Sizzling in the Phoenix heat? Try our Greek salad or make your own!

Found on every Greek table during lunch or dinner is a Greek salad! The Greek salad is a favorite of Greek households because of its freshness. Greece has a warm Mediterranean climate with beautiful spring and summers where growing fresh vegetables is easy, so the ingredients are plentiful and fresh! Sunny days in Greece can get fairly hot and nothing beats the heat than a fresh, crisp, tangy, delicious, Greek salad. Our beautiful Goodyear, AZ, also shares those same characteristics of sun, heat and plentiful fresh vegetables. We highly recommend you stop by and try our Greek salad but you can also make your own fairly easily!

What ingredients go in a Greek salad?

Well, that is a bit subjective. Different regions in Greece make the salad their own and "localized" and of course everyone may have a favorite vegetable that they may want to add to their salad, hence its ok to make it your own! There is no right or wrong way.

A typical salad may have the following ingredients (however like we said, this can vary by household or region)

  • Tomatoes

  • Onions

  • Cucumbers

  • Red onions

  • Olives (black or Kalamata, both are traditionally grown in Greece)

  • Lettuce (regional addition or make it "village style" with no lettuce)

  • Feta Cheese

  • Olive oil vinaigrette

  • Salt, pepper, oregano

Our Greek salad is a customer favorite! Some of our customers like to add Gyro meat to their salad, chicken or grilled souvlaki skewers! Up to you, we'll make it the way you like it!
